Zero Carb Breakfast Egg Cups

Posted by Maggie Morgan on

This easy, no carb option for breakfast is perfect for those quick mornings or before some semi-fasted morning cardio. Performing cardio without having any carbs will force the body to burn fats for fuel. However, to prevent the body from turning to breaking down proteins in the muscle tissue for energy, have a meal that is high in both protein and fats before performing any cardio.

What you will need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 slices of sandwich meat (turkey is used here)
  • 1/2 serving of feta or goats cheese
  • PAM cooking spray

What to do:

Line 2 muffin tins with two slices of turkey sandwich meat each. Put 1/4 a serving of cheese (either grated cheddar, goats cheese or feta cheese) on the bottom of each cup, then crack an egg on top of the cheese. Bake in the oven at 350 for 15-20 minutes, depending on how you like your egg cooked. It really is that easy! Serve on bread for a fuller meal option, or without for a carb-free meal.
